Entry fee for each model is $1.
All models, unless otherwise noted, are eligible for competition at this event.
Models must be built by the entrant, not “contracted out”.
The IPMS “definition of plastic” and “plastic composition” rules are waived for this event.
Proxy entries are allowed.
Models previously shown at past Quarterly Contests are ineligible for competition (the idea is to show something relatively new).
Models built more than 3 years ago are ineligible (the ideas is to build models not dust off a collection).
All models are subject to the decency clause –

IPMS/Houston respects and admires the skill and artistry of this hobby, regardless of the subject. However, common-sense standards of good taste and family viewing must be maintained. Please be advised, that “mature” or “provocative” (e.g. Rated R) subject matter is subject to omission at the discretion of the club’s executive body.
“Pre-paint” model are ineligible for this event.
Lobbying for or against any model is bad form.
Handling another’s model is bad form.
Bases are allowed in all categories, provided that a “slice of life” or story is not portrayed (diorama); otherwise it should be entered in the Diorama Category.
Judging for this event will be by a 3 person judging panel.
Judging Criteria:
Craftsmanship - Fabrication & Assembly
Finish - Appearance
Effectiveness of Model - Realism
Level of Effort - Difficulty
In addition, judges will evaluate the “story-line” of dioramas.
Only in the Diorama Division will Judges evaluate bases.
Children must be accompanied by a guardian (age 18 or older).
You receive up to 25 points per model to go toward Modeler of the Year
5 points for entering
1 to 5 points for Craftsmanship
1 to 5 points for Finish
1 to 5 points for Effectiveness of Model
1 to 5 points for Level of Effort
